Inching forward...

It doesn't matter how fast you travel, as long as you always move forward.

I can't tell you how much I love my new career. It's been without a doubt the best move I have made. It's what I have always wanted to do, and it opens the doors to so many possibilities. I actually have options available to me and in the next couple of years I could very possibly get out of this one horse town and move to KC.

I love it...

Perspective

How is this for a week.

My birthday is tomorrow.
The show opens this Friday.
I meet my sisters for the first time Friday.
My last day at RSC is Friday.
This weekend is the 25 year reunion for the Depot Theater Co.

Seems pretty chaotic, but then you hear news from Captain D, and it seems to all mean nothing in the grand scheme of things.

My prayers go out to you and your family bud.

Comrade Mali

You have to check out his poetry. He was my freshman writing teacher at Kansas State University in 1992. I always knew there was something about this guy. He is the onlyt reason that I can spell "definitely" correctly.

Okay don't tell anyone...

But I am a closet Nick Lachey fan. Not all that goofy shit he sings... but "Resolutions" is a song everyone needs to give a listen....

Old song still rocks!

"Lightning Crashes" by Live -

This song still gets constant play in my Itunes.

But I just noticed today that the beginning guitar riff pans from right to center to left and back. That is some clever shit...

If you already knew this then good for you, but if you didn't, then listen to it... thats some clever engineering.

25 years of great theater!

I hope everyone is coming to the Depot Theater Co's 25 year reunion this October.

It should be alot of fun, and oh, I will be in the show that is running that very same time. So its all the more reason to come on down and check it out.

This is it...

This is the semester that it all has to come together. I have to completely focus and make it happen as I have to sit for my CCNA certification at the end of this semester. There have been a few hiccups leading up to this test and I hope I can overcome them and make it happen.

Getting the CCNA certification is the first step getting where I want to be in life. It has to happen now...

Wish me luck....

School Daze

Well it's that time again. Time for some schoolin... And not just for the kiddos, but for dear ol Dad also. Starting on Monday I continue my quest for a degree. Also this semester I am playing the part of "Reverend Mervin Oglethorpe" in "Smoke on the Mountain: A Homecoming". So tackling all that could be tough.

It's all pretty exciting as I haven't done a show in a very long time and there is a good chance that my newly found sisters might be coming down to see it.

Oh and did I mention the Walkers are head to the Beaux Arts Ball?

And football...

I love this time of year.

Here comes the Paint again...

Rainout - No game today because of rain.

So it was a wasted day. Sometimes those are nice too.
Me and the boys spent the day playing "StarCraft"

Paint nobody's business if I do.... Day 3

Day 3 had us just getting into a groove. We got the front finished and moved to the side of the house before rain finally threatened and we had to call it a day.

And besides it is our Anniversary, so Tonya says I have to take a shower and get ready to go out to eat. The In-Laws are watching the kids so we may just act out like kids again. Maybe even go necking in the country!!!

Does the Carpet match the Curtains?

I'm not sure what was more disturbing, this video, or the comments it received from a number of illiterate teenagers thinking this was real.

Paint it Blac....errrr.... Spanish Galleon? Day 2

So day 2 was really the first full day of painting. Tonya had started in the backyard, basically to make sure we were going to be happy with the color. Honestly I was hoping for something a little darker. As the "Spanish Galleon" card looked a little more like an "avocado" than I had hoped. But I am happy with the color. No major injuries today, although I did drop a tray of paint all over myself and my ladder from about 12' feet in the air.

I did get a text message from the Pink, stating that he was listening to Ace of Base. I totally had to do the dance.

This is a vacation?

Well, it's friday and I am officially on vacation for a week. We originlly considered going to Kansas City and spending the weekend gambling and catching a Royals game or two with dear friends. But events have unfolded that made us decide to just stay in Dodge for the week.

And with that we decided to paint the house. I know, doesn't sound like much of a vacation but I am actually looking forward to it. I think Tonya and I were pretty close to divorce right there in aisle 3 of The Home Depot when were fighting over which color to go with. But we actually compromised and I hope it looks nice.

Hey, how about I keep a week long blog about how it goes, so that you, my beloved blog fans, can literally and internetingly watch the paint dry.

It's about time....

I think its time that we all stop growing older and start being kids again.

I mean seriously, I am not meant to be in bed at 9 p.m. every night. I should be out trying to buy beer without an ID and farting so nastily that it makes everyone have to get out on Wyatt Earp Blvd in the middle of traffic and gag a little...

And maybe just hang out at the Longbranch park for an evening...

Growing old is nice.. but sometimes you have to act your age....

Paperwork isn't ny strong suit.

I really suck at resume writing. I can bullshit with the best of em, but when it comes to writing about myself I can't seem to put the words together. Maybe I should make this one a fiction novel. One with alot of boobs and fast cars, and, of course Rip Taylor.

Podcast Blues...

I miss the old podcast. It's been months since we updated, mainly cause podomatic pulled the 52 switcheroo on our asses cut our storage space literally in half. It actually is kinda clever marketing, give the world for about 6 months then take half of it back....

It reminds me of the deals that Cox Communications always offers. "Get your digital cable, internet, and phone for as little as 99.99 per month for the first 2 months!" WHo the FUCK gets cable, internet and a phone for only 2 months?? It is this reason alone that I miss DSL from SBC. At least they gave you a deal that lasted a whole friggin year. Cox deals their shit like they are dealing crack.... sell it cheap to get you hooked, then jack the price up on your addicted ass.

Not me.....

But "On Demand" is pretty kewl...

Brewmeister Joe

So I decided to brew my own beer this past spring. I had tasted several different "homebrews" and decided that I wanted to test the waters and try to brew my own beer. And thanks to Jim Johnson's donation of his beer equipment I was able to do so.

I ordered a beer kit and followed the recipe to a "T". Waited almost two months and tried my first bottle.

My first thought was "I am pretty sure that fresh cow piss tastes better than this does right now". So I emptied that bottle and waited two more weeks before I tried my second. THe second taste test didn't go any better. I should have known it was horrible when Tonya tasted it and said "It tastes really good...... at first....."

I don't know what I did wrong.. but I proceeded to completely ruin a decent home brew recipe somewhere along the way.

But that didn't stop me from drinking the entire batch (cause hey!! it's beer... and beer is for drinkin!!!)

But man... did it ever taste like ass!!

Nacho Dodge anymore...

Well, for those of you who haven't been to Dodge in the last few years... You may not recognize it when you visit again. From Wyatt Earp construction projects to Special Events Centers and Casinos and even Ethanol Plants, Dodge hasn't seen this kind of economical growth in several decades. And with everything in life there is always some negative with every positive. But personally I think it's great for the town.

WoAh!!!! Got you all in check!!

Whats up my bitches?? Seriously, cause I haven't really heard from any of you in a really long time. And yeah it's really my fault. I haven't been the most accessible guy in the last year or so. And I make no excuses, really, so I guess you are just gonna have to deal.

But I do miss you all, and I promise to update a little more regularly with pictures and cute little quips that I know you all love.

So here's a little update:

Finished a full year of school and actually passed for the first time!
All the kids still have all their appendages.
Still haven't smoked a cigarette (going on about 14 months now so I just gonna quit keeping track and just call myself a non-smoker)

I should be doing a dinner theater show in the fall.
Still doing the P.A. announcing for the Dodge City Legend.

Like I said I will update later with more info. So until then.

Peace out Bitches!!!!!!!
